Kewpie Mayonnaise
Kewpie is Japanese mayonnaise used on a variety of Japanese food and snacks. Sushi in Japan is more than usually covered in this type of mayonnaise. The Japanese eat this with everything. It is equivalent to Americans and ketchup. You can use Kewpie mayonnaise on any of your sushi but normally it is spread on top of shrimp rolls such as crunchy shrimp roll or shrimp cucumber roll. Unlike American mayo, Kewpie mayonnaise is generally sweet. Next time you decide to make sushi at home, try Japanese mayo. You’ll taste the difference.
Where would you find Kewpie Mayo? Kewpie mayo could be found in any japanese market or a well stocked korean or asian market. If you don’t have an asian market you can find kewpie mayo on Amazon.com. You’ll just have to wait for delivery until you can enjoy the Kewpie mayo on your sushi.
